playdough, playdough tools, real pumpkins

Description

This is a wonderfully simple activity that allows for creative expression and is great for fine motor development.   Provide children with colored playdough and some rolling pins and play dough tools and have them decorate a real pumpkin!  The playdough with temporarily stick to the pumpkin - but can also be easily removed and children can start over and over again. 

They can make faces, or just explore how the playdough sticks.  They can make patterns or designs.  If desired, you can also provide other embellilshments to decorate the pumpkin such as sequins or buttons (though that will make clean up more involved).
