Paper Plate Christmas Tree

Print This Idea

Age Group

Preschool

Supplies

paper plates, green paint, brown construction paper, scissors, stapler, glue, sequins, pom poms and other assorted embellishments

Description

Have children paint their paper plate green.  Once dry, use a marker and draw a large cross on a paper plate, so that it divides the plate into quarters.  Allow children to then cut the plate into quarters.  Because the paper plate is stiff, it will be easier for young children to cut it.

Next, have children stack the plate quarters to make a tree (they can choose to make it 2, 3 or 4 pieces high).   Glue or staple the plates together.

Provide children with assorted embellishments and have them glue decorations to their tree.  Glue a small brown paper base to the bottom of the tree and hang them up!
