Pumpkin Butter

1/3 cup of heavy whipping cream, pinch of salt, 1 tablespoon canned pumpkin, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, a sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice



1. Pour the whipping cream in a jar or plastic container with a lid. Add a pinch of salt.

2. Secure the lid and then shake the container until butter forms.  This is a good group activity (as it take a lot of shaking for the butter to form).  Have children work in groups of 3-4 each taking turns with shaking.

3. Pour the excess buttermilk into a bowl.

4. Stir in pumpkin, spice, and sugar into the butter mixture.  Spread on slices of bread or crackers.
